Autauga County: Marbury Man Charged with Kidnapping, Domestic Violence of Ex-Girlfriend

On Saturday, April 17, Autauga County deputies responded to an alleged kidnapping/domestic violence call in the 2000 block of Hwy. 143 in Deatsville.

Initial investigation by deputies indicated that a verbal altercation between an ex-boyfriend and ex-girlfriend had turned physical and escalated when the ex-boyfriend allegedly forcibly took the victim against her will from the residence. He allegedly transported her to his residence where he held her overnight, not allowing her to leave.

While being held by the suspect, the victim was allegedly physically assaulted receiving injuries requiring medical treatment.

Subsequent investigation revealed the suspect to be Klayton Andrew Murphree of Marbury.

Felony warrants were obtained for the offenses of Kidnapping 1st, and Domestic Violence 1st.

On April 18, the suspect was located at his residence and taken into custody by deputies without incident and placed in the Autauga County Metro Jail under a total of $30,000 cash bond.
