Richfield Neighborhood Celebrates Easter with Party, Parade

By Gerri Miller

The children of the Richfield subdivision in Millbrook celebrated Easter on a beautiful Saturday with a party at the neighborhood park complete with their own parade.

Doris Battisti, social chairman and resident Easter bunny, made cookies for the children and organized the event. Children of all ages brought their bikes and followed the Easter bunny and parade leader Trudie Jones. Roger Jones handed out Easter beads to the children and they got to throw candy as they circled the park.

Trudie Jones said the Homeowners Association wanted to do something special this year for the children as last year’s activities were restricted because of COVID-19.  She said there may be a school year-end event. The HOA also plans celebrations around other holidays.

A large wooden Easter bunny decorating the park was created by Rick Battisti and painted by Doris Battisti and has been enjoyed by the entire neighborhood.

Even upcoming Stanhope Elmore High School graduate Evan Black got in on the fun by attending the party in his cap and gown and getting his picture made with the Easter bunny.
