Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama Spreads Joy Through Donating Girl Scout Cookies to Coosada Elementary School

(MARCH) – This year has been hard for educators all over the state due to the pandemic. That’s why Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama (GSSA) came up with the idea to spread a little joy by donating cookies to schools. After all, what better way to create a moment of joy for hard-working teachers than with a box of Girl Scout Cookies!

To do this, GSSA asked their Facebook followers to nominate schools by commenting on their Facebook post. GSSA said after a day the number of responses they received was astounding! The organization then randomly selected three winners to receive cookies for their entire staff, and among the winners was local school Coosada Elementary School!

“Our goal is to spread joy and show some love for all that our educators and supporting staff does, says Karlyn Edmonds, GSSA CEO. “We hope that these cookies show them just how much we value their hard work and appreciate them.”

Giving back is in Girl Scouts DNA, and GSSA is committed to supporting its local communities.
