Autauga County Pet of the Week is Sparky

From Ara Horn

Sparky is a 2-year-old male Yellow Lab who has already been neutered.  He is an owner turn in to PAHS because his elderly owner could no longer take care of him.  Sparky has a brownish/yellow coat that is just gorgeous.  He weighs 75 pound so he is a big fellow!  Sparky has been very well taken care of his entire life.  He is very well behaved, house trained, and leash trained.  Sparky is active and playful so a nice fenced yard would be appreciated for this wonderful guy.  He never meets a stranger!  Sparky gets along well with everyone including children and other dogs.  Labs are one of the most popular breeds and Sparky is an excellent example of why.  He has an exceptional personality and he has already been an amazing family dog with his previous owner.  Sparky will be so happy to have another loving family and we can’t wait for him to have the family that he deserves.

Our adoption fee is $120.00 for dogs and $50.00 for cats.  Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, discounted spay/neuter, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices.  Unless otherwise indicated under “special needs” our dogs have screened heart worm negative.   The shelter is located at 1009 Reuben Road in Prattville.  Our regular hours are Monday through Saturday

from 11 am until 4 pm.  We do close one day each month for staff training—that day in April will be chosen later.

Adoptions are by appointment only at this time.  For more information about our shelter, please call 358-2882, find us on Facebook at Prattville/Autauga Humane Society, email autaugahumane@yahoo.com., or visit our website at www.prattvilleautaugahumane.org.
