The American Crappie Trail National Championship took place in Elmore County for the second day in a row on Friday afternoon, as pro-anglers from across the county patiently waited to see if they made the final cut.
After starting with 80 teams, the filed was cut to 50 yesterday and was once again cut to 25 today. Conditions for the tournament have been tough for many competitors, as the rising Alabama River has made the water murky – scaring many fish away.
Still, the anglers have found a way to overcome the difficult circumstances and for 25 lucky teams, the chance to win the ACT National Championship is still within reach.
After day two, your top five teams are:
Josh Jones and Josh Reynolds: 25.93 lbs
TC Llyod and Eric Cagle: 23.67 lbs
Brett Luther and Robert Luther: 23.19 lbs
Scott Williams and Billy Williams: 22.08 lbs
Steve Brown and Gerald Overstreet: 21.84 lbs
The full, final top 25 can be viewed in our graphic.
It’s a tight race, and the national champion will be crowed tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. in the Air Now parking lot in Millbrook. Come out and enjoy the atmosphere!
