Prattville Police Investigating Two Unrelated Reports of Sexual Crimes at Prattville Christian Academy

BY SARAH STEPHENS

ELMORE/AUTAUGA NEWS

Two unrelated cases of alleged illegal sexual activity at Prattville Christian Academy have been confirmed by Chief Assistant District Attorney C.J. Robinson.

One arrest was made Friday of a former assistant baseball coach at the school. He has been identified as Matthew James Kicker, 23, of Elmore County who is no longer employed at the school. Sources tell us he had been released from employment prior to his arrest for alleged school policy violations, not related to these recent allegations.

An arrest warrant and multiple search warrants were executed, and Kicker was placed in the Elmore County Jail on $45,000 bond. He has retained an attorney, Robinson said.

Kicker has two charges at this time, including a School Employee having Sexual Contact with a Student under the age of 19 and Electronic Solicitation of a Child.

Robinson said that the alleged criminal activity occurred both on and off campus with a female student. The charges will be handled through the Elmore County court system, as PCA is located in Elmore County. However, the school falls in the Prattville Police Department jurisdiction, and that agency is handling the investigation.

In an unrelated matter, Robinson confirmed a recent arrest of a male student at Prattville Christian Academy was made involving a separate case of charges for illegal sexual activity against another female student. We have learned that the student arrested is no longer enrolled at the school. As he is a juvenile, his identity and specifics of the case were not made available.

PCA released a letter to parents by email that reads:

“PCA families,
