Juicy Seafood: New Restaurant in Prattville Getting Major Attention, Has Great Decor

The Juicy Seafood has been opened for less than a month in Prattville but has already gained a following from community members.

“We originally planned to have a soft opening on Valentine’s Day and have our hard opening at the end of March. However, the reception for the restaurant was so good that we ended up staying open and have been ever since,” said restaurant manager Kraig Buckingham

Located in the old Ryan’s and Southern Kitchen building on Cobbs Ford Road, the Juicy Seafood has decided to branch out and move away from a tradition of buffet bars at that location.

“Upper management felt like it would be best to move away from the buffet format and have a sit-and-serve style restaurant. We still have a lot people come in and ask if we are a ‘buffet place’ and most people breathe a sigh of relief when we tell them that we’re not,” Buckingham laughed.

The establishment sells a large variety of seafood, such as crab legs, shrimp, mussels, and many offerings. While the food has been given glowing reviews so far, it’s the renovations inside that have caught most people’s attention.

“Everyone comes in and says they are so surprised with the inside,” Buckingham said. “People are like, ‘this looks nothing like Ryan’s,’ and then proceed to tell us how much they like the changes.”

While the old Ryan’s location was a smash hit for many years, it was no secret that it interior design was a bit outdated.

The Juicy Seafood has seen to it that the dining experience is just as good as the food on the table. Inside, the walls are lined with images of pirate ships and oceanic creatures. The floors have been replaced with hard-wood and new tables and booths have been installed. There are TVs hanging from the walls in key locations for those wanting to catch their favorite sporting event.

Perhaps the most noticeable change in the restaurant is the massive “boat bar” that resides in the middle of all the action.

“We’ve been told that this is the biggest bar in all of Prattville and is right up there as the largest one in all of the river region,” Buckingham said.

Currently, the bar is not open as the restaurant is in the process of obtaining their liquor license, but they are optimistic that it will be up and running soon.

“The Montgomery location took about six months after they opened, but we’re hopeful that people will have the opportunity to have a beverage with their meal as summer moves in,” Buckingham said.

Buckingham said the restaurant is still planning on having a hard opening sometime this spring, but for now they are simply enjoying the success.

“This is one of the most supportive communities that I’ve ever been around. Everyone has been so nice to us, even with all the changes. We’re ready to see what the future brings,” Buckingham said.
