Prattville Fire Hydrant Testing Scheduled for April

From the Prattville Fire Department

The Prattville Fire Department and Prattville Waterworks will be conducting flow test of the hydrants located within the City of Prattville during the month of April 2021. Testing will last approximately 30 days and will start each day around 8:30 am and conclude by 5 pm.

During these testing periods, residents may experience periods of orange tinted water. If this occurs, flushing the faucets, commodes and other water sources will clear the water. Before washing clothes, fill the machine with water to check for discoloration before placing the cloths in the machine.

Fire hydrant testing is an essential function of these two departments to provide the residents of Prattville with adequate water for domestic use and firefighting purposes.

Thank you for your patience while we conduct these tests.
