ELMORE/AUTAUGA NEWS

You can complain about unsightly trash, or you can do something to help.

That is the idea behind an event coming March 20 to Millbrook where two City Council members want to do more than just talk. They are hoping members of the community will join them.

The event will last from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and your help would be appreciated. This is a great opportunity for service organizations, church youth groups or families to take part and help to clean up areas of unsightly trash.

The event is being promoted and hosted by Councilwoman Jacquelyn Thomas of Ward 1 and Councilman Hal Hodge of Ward 5.

For anyone wanting to assist in helping pick up trash, know that gloves and trash bags will be provided. With enough volunteers, a lot can be accomplished in two hours.

For Ward 1 – Meet at the Village Green Park Stage.

Ward 5 – Meet at the empty parking lot by Dollar General on Myrick Road.

Please mark your calendars and spread the word!
