Senator Clyde Chambliss Named Chairman of Senate Confirmations Committee

Montgomery, February 2, 2021 – The Alabama Senate’s Committee on Assignments announced today that Senator Clyde Chambliss (R-Prattville) will serve as Chairman of the Senate Confirmations Committee.

“It is an honor to be selected to chair the Senate Confirmations Committee, and I appreciate the confidence my colleagues have placed in me to take the reins of this important committee,” Chambliss said. “This committee carries with it the responsibility of examining the qualifications of nominees selected by the governor to serve in important roles across our state’s government. I will work hard to ensure Alabamians have confidence in those who are chosen to lead and serve in our state.”

Blaikney Frazier Named to Fall 2020 Dean’s List at Georgia State University

ATLANTA, GA (02/02/2021)– Blaikney Frazier of Prattville (36066) was named to the Fall 2020 Dean’s List at Georgia State University.

Frazier is studying/majoring in Psychology.

To be eligible for the Dean’s List, degree-seeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 for a minimum of nine semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State during the fall or spring term with no incompletes for the semester. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all classes taken at Georgia State.

Caleb Wutzke Named to Cast of A Tale of Two Cities: The Musical

GREENVILLE, SC – Caleb Wutzke has been named to the cast of Bob Jones University’s upcoming production of A Tale of Two Cities: The Musical March 9, 12 – 13, 2021.

Wutzke is a resident of Montgomery and will be featured as Aristocratic Prisoner, Male Ensemble and Sailor in the production, which will be mounted in BJU’s 2600-seat Rodeheaver Auditorium.

Based on Charles Dickens’ masterpiece, A Tale of Two Cities is a classic story about love, revolution, and redemption. Composer and lyricist Jill Santoriello created the musical version of this important work which appeared on Broadway in 2008.

For over 90 years, Bob Jones University has produced national award-winning productions. Dr. Darren Lawson, dean of the School of Fine Arts and Communication and stage director for this production said, “We are thrilled that Caleb is part of the 65-member cast for this amazing musical.”

Graham Esdale Named President of the Alabama Chapter of National Organization

MONTGOMERY, ALA. (January 29, 2021) – Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles, P.C. lawyer Graham Esdale was recently named President of the Alabama Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Esdale was elected at the Virtual Board Meeting in October.

ABOTA is a national association of seasoned trial lawyers and judges. Members are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. ABOTA membership consists of more than 7,600 lawyers – equally balanced between plaintiff and defense – and judges spread among 96 chapters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
