ELMORE/AUTAUGA NEWS

It has been a long time coming, but much-needed improvements to Camp Grandview Road will begin next week in Millbrook.

The Elmore County Commission’s Highway Department personnel will begin drainage improvements and shoulder work on Camp Grandview Road from AL 14 north to Old Prattville Road the week of January 11th. This is part of a cooperative partnership between the County and the City of Millbrook.

Weather permitting, work is scheduled to last around four weeks. Please use caution while driving through this work zone.

This is just the first phase of a series of improvements on the roadway, which will later include improvements to the entrance of the Camp Grandview Family YMCA. The project is similar to the recently completed Browns Road widening and resurfacing, according to City Council President Michael Gay.

It is hoped Camp Grandview Road will be repaved and rebuilt by the summer.
