On 12/14/2020, the Prattville Police Department responded to the McDonalds on South Memorial Drive in reference to a stolen vehicle. The victim reported that he left his vehicle running in the parking lot while going inside McDonalds. During this time frame, the above pictured suspect allegedly stole the vehicle and led Police on a high speed pursuit throughout Autauga County.
State Troopers and Autauga County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the pursuit. The suspect eventually wrecked in a field off of County Road 40 and fled into the nearby woods.
The State Department of Corrections K-9 tracking team as well as the ALEA State Aviation Unit responded and assisted in locating and arresting the suspect. The assistance of the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama State Troopers, ALEA Aviation, DOC K-9 Tracking Team, and Alabama Game and Fish Division resulted in the suspect being taken into custody. The suspect is facing charges for Probation Violation, Theft of Property 1st, and Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement and is incarcerated in the Autauga County Metro Jail on bonds totaling $70,000.00. Other charges may be forthcoming.
