Wetumpka Police Department

FROM CENTRAL ALABAMA CRIMESTOPPERS

The Wetumpka Police Department has officially notified CrimeStoppers that a suspect has been identified and arrested that was involved in a September burglary that occurred at a storage rental facility.

Wetumpka Investigators updated CrimeStoppers that a tip received in October 2020 in regard to several commercial burglaries/thefts (WPD Case #: W200900034; W200900035; W200900036) from Storage World in Wetumpka, AL led to the arrest of a subject. The CrimeStopper’s tip provided information about the vehicle the suspect was driving with a tag number. This led to the final identification and subsequent arrest of 38-year-old Montgomery resident Tron Sutherland.

Multiple warrants were obtained for Tron Sutherland in early November and he was arrested on December 8, 2020 by another agency on unrelated charges. Wetumpka Police has placed a hold on Sutherland and arrest warrants will be served after he is released from the other charges.

Note: A criminal charge is an accusation. The defendant is assumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
