The Prattville Police Department is currently seeking the identity of a male wanted for Theft of Lost Property and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card.
On November 27, 2020 at approximately 4:53 am, a customer left their Apple iPhone in the restroom of a gas station located in the 1700 block of South Memorial Drive. A suspect described as a black male was observed on security cameras entering the restroom immediately after the victim had exited. The victim returned to the restroom within two minutes of exiting, but the cell phone had been taken. The suspect was observed entering the passenger side of a white 2009 Hyundai Sonata which exited the parking lot heading southbound on South Memorial Drive towards Montgomery.
Approximately 30 minutes after this incident, the victim received notification from her banking institution that the suspect attempted to use her debit card at the Ann Street Walmart in Montgomery. The victim’s debit card was attached to a card holder on the stolen cell phone.
Investigators released video and still images from the gas station of the suspect.
