PRATTVILLE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PRESIDENT
On Tuesday, the Business Council of Alabama (BCA) launched a grassroots movement to “Keep Alabama Open.”
This new campaign comes in opposition to recent public calls for a nationwide mandatory shutdown, which would come from the federal government if instituted.
BCA and the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama (CCAA) fully support the State of Alabama’s ability and right to manage its own affairs when it comes to the public health and well-being of our citizens, and commend Governor Ivey and her administration for continuing to exercise thoughtful leadership during this unprecedented time.
Throughout the pandemic, Alabama business owners and employees have worked diligently to follow State Health Orders and best practices when it comes to keep their customers and themselves safe, while continuing to earn a living and supporting their families.

The primary goal of your Prattville Chamber is to support businesses in the Prattville area. In this era of COVID-19, there is nothing more important to businesses– both large and small– and the employees who work for them, than to keep their doors OPEN to serve our residents! Until the virus is under control, our local businesses and customers will struggle. Governments will have little choice but to impose additional restrictions and customers will hesitate to venture into our local stores.
During the pandemic, our businesses have been innovative and are proud to be operating as safely and responsibly as possible to protect their employers, customers and to keep their doors open. With the Christmas shopping season upon us, now is the time to keep ALABAMA OPEN, allowing our residents to SHOP LOCAL- not locked down! And, as always, we will continue to strongly encourage every resident to WEAR A MASK and practice social distancing when they are out supporting our local businesses–it is an act of economic survival and patriotism!
Wear a mask when you are out supporting your favorite boutique, gift shop, restaurant, spa and car dealership! Our local businesses need us now more than ever before! And, studies show, that the best thing that we can do to contain the virus and to stay safe is to WEAR A MASK, WASH YOUR HANDS AND PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING.
