City of Prattville Recruiting City Attorney; Will Serve as Legal Advisor, Among other Duties

The City of Prattville is currently recruiting for a contractual City Attorney to provide usual and ordinary legal services. The contractual City Attorney will act as a legal advisor to the Mayor, City Council, City Department Heads, City Clerk, and other City Employees as necessary to conduct the City’s legal business. The City Attorney will attend all City Council meetings, Work Sessions, designated Committees, and any other necessary meetings on behalf of the City. Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing, reviewing, and making recommendations on ordinances, resolutions, policies, agreements, and other legal documents. The City Attorney will provide services for land acquisitions, annexations, environmental-related items, real estate matters, Board/Commission issues, municipal bonds, general legal advice, negotiating franchise agreements, contracts, redistricting, personnel matters, drafting and reviewing policies, and enforcing the City’s Municipal Code.

Qualified candidates interested in pursuing this opportunity must be in good standing with the Alabama State Bar and duly licensed in the State of Alabama.
