So, apparently Facebook has attached a notice when anyone searches for the Elmore/Autauga News. That notice is shown in the photo.
I am just curious to know if you have seen it when you search for us? It would not appear on the website, but only on a Facebook search from what I can gather.
I have noticed that our reach on Facebook has dropped quite a bit in the past month, and have been trying to figure out the cause. I think I now know.
Apparently we were not contacted to let us know we were dangerous. Funny, I don’t feel very dangerous. And while I have heard of the QAnon, I have not researched it, or followed their pages.
I have reached out to Facebook to see if we can get an explanation on their determination of our “dangerous” content. But I am not going to hold my breath. In fact, just pointing this out could lock down our page and put me in Facebook jail.
So, until this is resolved, remember you don’t have to go through Facebook to see our content. In fact, I would recommend you go straight to our website at elmoreautauganews.com for now.
Fortunately, our group of ladies was visiting area Chambers of Commerce today in honor of Chamber of Commerce Appreciation Week. We made a stop for lunch in Wetumpka at Grumpy Dawg, and for the record, it was delicious.
We had some extra cookies and brownies and offered them to a group sitting near us outside. We encouraged them to look up the Elmore/Autauga News. Just a few minutes later one in the group walked over and showed us the message she received on Facebook when she searched for us.
It just left me shaking my head. So, please help us spread the news that we are still very much alive and well and our website can be access without a warning label. I truly hope to hear back from Facebook on this issue, but in the meantime I am looking for another way to share our content. If you have any suggestions, they would be welcome. We do have a Twitter, that works on occasion. We also have an InstaGram, but I understand that is operated by Facebook. We are probably too dangerous for that, too.
