Sgt. Foxx and FM Barber received a surprise visit from a patient they responded to in cardiac arrest three days earlier.
On arrival the patient was found pulseless and not breathing in the passenger side of his car. Crew initiated ventilatory support while removing the patient from the vehicle to begin cardiac resuscitation. With the help of Station 3’s crew, the patient returned to consciousness. By the time the patient arrived at the Emergency Department he was carrying on a conversation with the attending crew members, and the patient was discharged from the hospital the next day.
On Thursday, August 13, three days later, the patient and his wife arrived unannounced to Station #3 to visit with the crew members that shared that day with him.
