Today, March 8, 2020, was a special occasion at Ivy Creek Methodist Church. The descendants of Elizabeth Jones Wood, including the families of Russell and Catherine Wood, Tyler and Mary Louise (Wood) Moore, the trust of Wilbur George and Annie Maude (Wood) Johnson, and others, donated a new bell for the church.
Dr. Cathy Wood Cowart, of Montgomery, gave the salutation for the bell this morning, which included the fact that this will be the FIRST BELL to be installed in the historic church. The church belfry has never had a bell. The congregation looks forward to hearing it ring out across Mulberry and Statesville in the near future.
