City of Prattville to Celebrate The Arts Throughout March! Something for Everyone

Creative and Performing Arts Council hosts the annual Celebration of the Arts Dinner, honoring Jackson Bostwick.

This event is held each year to honor someone who has made a significant contribution to the arts in Alabama. In the hour prior to the dinner, there will be a silent auction and reception to raise funds for the Friends of the Arts. Tickets are available at cc.prattvilleal.gov.

Next, The Prattauga Art Guild will host an opening reception for “ink,” an exhibition featuring works using ink as a medium, on March 12, from 5-7 pm. The exhibition will be up through April 12th at the Prattville Creative Arts Center and Gallery and is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am until 2 pm and Sundays from 1 pm until 4 pm.

The Way Off Broadway Theatre will host a free Theatre Workshop on March 14 from 9 am

until noon. The workshop is open to students in grades 1-5 and will be held at the Way Off

Broadway Theatre. Space is limited and registration is required.

The Wilson Pickett Jr. Legacy will host an Arts Leadership Workshop on March 14. This

workshop is for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in a career in the arts. To

submit your student, please call Barbara Simpson at (334) 595-0851.

Local songwriters, including pianist Tom Sellers, will share their songs and the stories

behind them on March 19 at the Doster Community Center. This event is from 7 pm – 9 pm and admission is $5.

The Prattauga Art Guild will host Printmaking Workshops on Saturday, March 21; one for

children (ages 8-11) from 10 until 11:30 am and one for teens (ages 12-14) from 12:30 until 2 pm.

Space is limited and registration is required.

Also on March 21, the Prattauga Art Guild will host its March Artist Market from 10 am until

2 pm at the Prattville Creative Arts Center and Gallery.

On March 27, the Prattville Community Chorus will host its annual Spring Dinner Concert at

6:30 pm the Doster Community Center. Tickets for this “Let it Bee Spring” concert are $25 and are available online at cc.prattvilleal.gov.

On Sunday, March 29, the Prattville Pops will perform their annual Spring Concert at 3:00

pm at the Doster Community Center. Admission is free and it is open to the public.
