Midsouth Paving has started Phase II of a planned resurfacing project on Coosada Pkwy.
Phase II consists of a federally funded resurfacing project that will include the placement of new thermoplastic traffic striping, pavement markers and pavement markings.
Resurfacing work will occur over the next few weeks with final stripe and other improvements following. Previously the county utilized a local bid to remove the upper layer of asphalt paving to prepare the road for the new wearing layer. The reclaimed asphalt pavement is being utilized to repair shoulder drop offs and to surface short, low volume unpaved roads in lieu of purchasing additional materials to accomplish the same type tasks.
