One Year Later: Praise Service to be Held at First Baptist Church in Wetumpka Sunday

BY SARAH STEPHENS, OWNER/EDITOR EAN

In the past year, the City of Wetumpka has not only come back from a devastating tornado that hit the heart of the city, but they have also moved forward with projects to beautify downtown.

Wetumpka Strong, a slogan and mantra for the past year, has brought the community together. On Sunday, the community will come together again to remember the events from a year ago, the destruction but also the rejuvenation. See information below from the City of Wetumpka.

That morning when word began to spread that Wetumpka had taken a direct hit, first responders from throughout Alabama began making their way to the city to offer any assistance available. Neighbors helped neighbors. Individuals, organizations and area businesses donated to the cause.
