FROM KATHY KELLEY, COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN

MILLBROOK Spirit of Christmas – 2019

The Millbrook Spirit of Christmas Committee held its final meeting before the city’s Tree Lighting Dec. 5 and Parade, Festival Dec. 7. Everything is ready for an old-fashioned, “Musical” Christmas event in downtown.

Schedule:

Thursday – Dec. 5th – Annual Christmas Tree Lighting 6 p.m. at the Village Green Park. Come out, bring your chairs and a blanket.  Caroling and Live Nativity Scene.  Refreshments for sale. The Youth Group of Robinson Springs United Methodist Church is manning the Live Nativity this year. The church will also be providing concessions for sale. See performers from Airport Road Intermediate and Coosada Elementary! The city’s tree will officially be lit, and the light show set to music unveiled. Frank Clem will provide caroling and entertainment for the entire audience to participate!

Saturday – Dec. 7th – Spirit of Christmas Parade – 2 p.m.  The Theme for this year is “A Musical Millbrook Christmas.” Our Grand Marshals for this year’s parade are SEHS Choir and Band Directors and members. The Parade begins at the Sports Complex behind Smokehouse Pit Q and ends at the intersection at the Old City Hall.  We will have lots of area representatives, fire trucks, cars, floats, bands, scouts, dancers, tractors, and horses.  And lots of candy being thrown!  After walking around the Village Green and buying from our vendors, pick you out a spot to view our wonderful Parade.  When the Parade is over, come back to the Village Green to finish your shopping. There are more vendors this year in the park than ever before! Plenty of shopping and food opportunities for you!

Arts & Crafts & Food Vendors & Entertainment – 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.  We will have entertainment on stage all day.  Entertainment includes Chung’s Tae Kwon Do, Lisa’s Dance Dimensions and the Prattville Promenaders.

Come out and see lots of dancers, old and young, and listen to some wonderful singers.  We have a great variety of Arts & Crafts vendors, so come out and buy some beautiful and unique Christmas gifts.  We have food vendors aplenty with all kinds of temptations.  Come for breakfast, stay for lunch, and take home goodies for supper!

Santa & Mrs. Claus will be in the Gazebo and available for pictures 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.   Free photos with Santa & Mrs. Claus for children 12 and under.  Photos are taken by Chrietzberg Photography and sponsored by Valley National Bank.

We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!!
