WETUMPKA – One adults male and two unidentified juveniles were taken into custody Dec. 3, in relation to the robbery of the Redland Shell Station in Wetumpka around 5:30 a.m. the same day.

Wetumpka Assistant Police Chief Ed Reeves told the Elmore/Autauga News that his investigators worked with Tallassee Police investigators on this case. Because two of the suspects are juveniles, their identities are not being released at this time. The only adult in the list of suspects was identified as Jaden Devon Potts, of Tallassee, 19-years-old. He was booked into the Elmore County Jail for a Robbery charge. More charges could be pending.

“We put out of a video of the suspects and Tallassee Police saw it,” Chief Reeves said. “They contacted us and said they thought they were also the ones involved with an attempted robbery in Tallassee.”

In that matter, the suspects allegedly brandished a knife to a clerk at a station in Tallassee, but left without any money.

At the Redland Shell, two suspects entered with masks and one of them raised a shirt, showing the clerk what they believed to be a gun. They left the store with an undetermined amount of money, Reeves said.

Two of the suspects were taken into custody by mid-afternoon, Reeves said, and the third earlier this evening.

Reeves praised the work of officers and detectives from both departments and said that he is very glad that all suspects were taken into custody quickly.
