An Autauga County school bus driver allegedly threw an eight-year-old boy off the school bus, left him on the side of the road, and drove off because of the boy’s bad behavior.
Police are investigating the incident, which occurred at 7 a.m. on Tuesday. The driver allegedly turned the bus around and let the boy out on the street where he lives, according to police reports.
Superintendent Spence Agee said the school system is also looking into the matter. He said he cannot comment further as school board policy does not allow him to comment on personnel matters. “We will conduct an investigation, and we will cooperate with any police investigation,” he said. “Once our investigation is complete the findings will be presented to the board and the board will determine what if any action is necessary.”
No warrants had been issued by Thursday afternoon and no arrests have been made. The boys’ parents filed a report on the incident. No more information is available as the boy is a juvenile.
