Ms. Ella was born in Wetumpka, AL in December 1929. This December she’ll turn 90 years old. She was born to Nelson and Josephine Bass Yarbrough. After graduating from Auburn University, she married Bill McClain. They were married for 51 years before his death to cancer in 2004. Ms. Ella has four Children, nine grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. Her greatest joy is in her children, grandchildren and greats.

Ms. Ella taught Home Economics for many years at Marbury High School. She loved teaching her students and took pride in their accomplishments.

After Ms. Ella and Bill retired from teaching, they became Sojourners, a group of Christians couples committed to needs churches may have. They have traveled to forty five of the 50 states assisting small churches, Christians schools and camps. They loved mission work and meeting so many Christian friends this effort gave them.

Ms. Ella loves people and has always gone out of her way to make them feel at home. Being a wife, mother and serving others has always been a priority in Ms. Ella’s life.
