U.S. Honor Flag Team On Way to Alabama to Honor Fallen Equality Volunteer Firefighter

Equality Volunteer Firefighter Michael Johnston will receive one of the highest honors for fallen firefighters. The U.S. Honor Flag team departed from Washington, D.C. this afternoon for Alabama. A live GPS tracking link with the team’s progress is available on Facebook.com/USHonorFlag

The team is traveling with InspirationONE, this is a 44-foot custom RV used to house the traveling U.S. Honor Flag team and the actual U.S. Honor Flag. This is one American flag that has traveled over 7 million miles since 9/11. On the last space shuttle launch, The International Space Station and, to over a thousand funerals and events to honor fallen Firefighters, Police Officers, First Responders and members of the US Armed Forces killed in the line of duty.

Funeral service for Michael Johnston will be Saturday, October 26, at 11 a.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Whittington officiating.  Burial will follow at Rehobeth Cemetery, Linville Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Linville Funeral Memorial Funeral Home.
