On Wednesday morning this week, Max credit union hosted their 20th Annual MAX4Kids golf tournament, which raises money for their children’s foundation. Max Credit Union raises money that supports numerous charities in the river region, as well as their MAX4Kids scholarship program.

Over 180 golfers gathered around the front of the Robert Trent Jones Clubhouse to hear Kenneth Hill, President of Max Mortgage Services, speak about how the credit union has been able to give back to the community.

“Since 2001, we’ve been able to give over $1.3 M back to children’s charities and high school seniors for college scholarships, and that would not be possible without this event – our biggest fundraising event. All of you [golfers and sponsors] have donated to this cause and it’s because of that, that we’re able to be here today,” Hill said.

Max Credit followed this up with a $5,000 donation to Kid One Transport and a $1,000 donation to Tie and Doll. Kid One Transport is an organization that transports children and expected mothers to healthcare. Over the past year, they serviced 45 counties in the state and did nearly 23,000 transports. Meanwhile, Tie and Doll teaches students in the river region the tools for success, such as how to give a firm handshake, proper eye contact and how to dress for interviews.

Brooke Foster, communications specialist for MAX, knows how important an event like this is for not only their sponsors, but for the community as whole.

Kenneth Hill presents a $5,000 check to a representative with Kid One Transport.

“This really benefits organizations who are helping children in our area. We have about 12 different organization that we donate to, and they all help children in the river region. Having this golf tournament helps us raise awareness about local organizations like Kid One Transport and Tie and Doll. It ultimately gives back to community in a positive way be helping children, whether it involves healthcare, education or any other basic necessity,” Foster said.

The tournament also had a silent auction and door prizes for the golfers. The items for the auction were donated by MAX’s community partners and local businesses. Each item was auctioned off to benefit MAX4Kids as well.
